INJECTABLES & DERMAL FILLERS
INJECTABLES & FILLERS
Under the direction of Dr. Candice DeMattia, SKIN 101 offers various injectable filler options to achieve a revitalized appearance at our professional practice in Spring, Texas. Our health providers will recommend the best product or products that are best suited for you to help you achieve your desired result.
As we age the face skin loses volume which can make the face look hollow. To restore youthfulness, dermal fillers are injected into the face. Fillers are used for the treatment of wrinkles and folds as well as lip plumping. At SKIN 101 we can employ fillers to treat nasolabial folds (parenthesis around the mouth), marionette lines (the lines just below the corners of the lips), cheeks, tear troughs (dark under-eye circles), temples, chins, the options are endless.
Injectables are generally referred to as a “liquid facelift.” Generally speaking, they are office-based procedures, easy to administer, long-lasting, and affordable. No one product is perfect, and many times, different products can and should be used together to achieve the best results. As with all cosmetic procedures, results are a direct reflection of both the injectable chosen and the injector’s technique. No two faces are the same. Be cautious, all injectable products carry some risk.
Restylane® products restore volume and fullness to the lips and skin to correct minimal to severe facial wrinkles and folds, as well as augmenting other areas where mother nature may have forgotten Restylane® Lyft restores volume and fullness to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
Refyne is a Restylane filler that uses XpresHAn Technology, which is designed to give a more youthful, smooth skin appearance while maintaining control of your natural facial expressions. Refyne is particularly effective at helping to restore a more natural look when treating minimal to severe facial lines such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
Also relying on XpresHAn Technology, Restylane Defyne is designed for use in your nasolabial lines, between your nose and mouth, and marionette lines, from the corners of your mouth to your chin. While Defyne is just as effective as Refyne, each one is more suitable for certain applications due to the particular muscle and skin movements of each area.
Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen—the most common protein in the body that is used to form a framework to support cell and tissue—for results that can last more than two years.* If you want to appear more youthful-looking — without appearing like you’ve had work done — then chances are Sculptra Aesthetic may be a good choice for you. It can be used on the body and face.

ULTRA® & ULTRA PLUS®

Kybella is the first and only FDA-approved treatment to remove fat under the chin. A nonsurgical injectable technique used to target the fat beneath the chin. The process uses a series of deoxycholic acid injections to target the fat cells in this area. No incisions are required, and the downtime is minimal in most cases. The best candidate is an adult 18 years or older with moderate to severe fat beneath the skin.
You might not be a good candidate if you have had or are planning to have facial surgery, if you have trouble swallowing, are pregnant or nursing, or have an infection or medical condition in or near the planned injection site.
PREPARING FOR YOUR TREATMENT
It is important to plan the treatment with your healthcare provider and make sure you are the right candidate for the procedure. Discuss your medical history, as well as any cosmetic procedures you've had done on your face, neck, or chin. Tell your healthcare provider about any trouble swallowing or bleeding problems.
As a nonsurgical procedure, there is little preparation required. It’s advisable to schedule the procedure well before any major events. Washing your face properly before the appointment can help reduce the risk of infection and avoiding ibuprofen and acetaminophen can prevent post-treatment bruising.
